Zonal Flow
The weather continues to remain active across the nation as a “Zonal Flow” sets up bringing in waves of energy from the Pacific with great frequency. Zonal flow means that the strong upper level winds are running from west to east in a linear pattern, which tends to keep temperatures similar from day to day.
Next Precip Chance:
Temperatures close to home in the 70s will not deviate much over the next few days, but every 24 to 36 hours rain chances increase. Look, our next best chance of thundershowers comes in Thursday night through Friday. Below is the 6 hour precipitation accumulation at 7am Friday - the bulls eye seems to be over east central Minnesota.
Weekend rain chances will be monitored though don't be worried if you have grad parties/etc. It won't be a wash out. Only spotty stuff is expected through the weekend.
Happy graduation to all the grads out there and best wishes for blue skies
- Todd Nelson
