Fall-like Weekend
Below average temperature readings continue here through the last official summer weekend of 2010. On the 22nd, the suns' most direct rays will pass over the Equator on its way to the southern hemisphere. With that said, temperature through the first half of the month have been nearly 2 degrees below average. Today, high temperatures will be almost 10 degrees below average. There will be a significant chill in the air the weekend, especially across far northern Minnesota on Saturday and Sunday mornings where Frost/Freeze advisories have been posted.
Here's a look at the forecast cloud cover and precipitation this early afternoon. The gray colors on the image on the left indicated clouds; note how clouds and precipitation (see on the image on the right) seem to stay across the southern part of the state.
These were the frost and freeze warnings across northern Minnesota early Saturday:
Stay warm out there and have a good Saturday - Todd Nelson
