Yesterday's commotion about the snow is all but over today. There will be a little more clean up taking place across the southeastern part of the state, but most of us are still waiting for that first big block buster storm of the year. By this time last year, the Twin Cities had seen nearly 16" of snow and those who embrace winter sports were having the time of their life.
It's no surprise that we're off to a fairly slow start this season, but I think it's promising now that more of us have a light white coating on the ground. The next big story as we enter the first full week of December is going to be the cold! Temperatures will be the coldest of the season so far and the coldest we've seen since late February or early March, nearly 6 months ago.
A series of cold fronts will drop south of the border this week, punching modified Arctic air into neighborhoods near you. I predict you'll start seeing more and more of those puffy winter jackets dawned with colorful scarves and clunky footwear. Each passing cold front will also bring a quick shot of light snow or flurries, nothing to write home about, but it'll be the light fluffy kind. PM Sunday brings that first chance.

Lobster-trap tag lost during ‘perfect storm’ washes up on Ireland beach 20 years later

"Retired Pembroke fisherman Richard Figueiredo couldn’t believe it when his son told him that a woman in Ireland had found one of his 20-year-old lobster-trap identification tags on a beach."

this is a cool story, check it out HERE:

Denver Snow

"The second of a series of winter storms brought more snowfall to the Front Range of Colorado. An additional 7.3 inches of snowfall fell at the NWS office in Boulder as of 11:00 AM. Cold Air Moves In
This is the 850mb temperature map for Monday, which shows a blast of cold air across the Upper Midwest. Keep in mind that we don't have a tremendous amount of snow on the ground, so this cold air coming in for next week, albeit cold, won't be as cold as it could be.

Coldest Air In Nearly 6 Months
An even colder air mass drops in by Thursday, which is likely to be the coldest air since late February or early March - nearly 6 months ago. Teens for high temps and single digit lows are looking more likely. Dig out the heavy winter artillery, you're going to need it next week!

Thanks for checking in and have a great rest of your weekend!
