Severe Risk Diminishes as Cooler Front Arrives

Update: 7:00 pm. Severe Risk Eases. As winds shift around to the west/northwest the threat of strong/severe storms has now shifted east, into Wisconsin. I see little or no risk of additional thunderstorms. Earlier, funnel clouds were spotted near Rice and Holdingford, and mid afternoon brought funnels near Glenwood and rotating wall clouds over Sauk Center. Under a clear sky temperatures (and humidity levels) drop off rapidly overnight - beautiful (quiet) weather shaping up for Thursday and Friday, virtually NO chance of the sirens going off because of severe weather - a well-deserved break.

5:00 pm Update: Severe Storm Watch until 10 pm. The main tornado threat has pushed east into Wisconsin, but storms forming along a cool frontal boundary may still reach severe limits through the evening hours - a new severe storm watch is in effect for central/eastern MN until 10 pm. This watch does include the St. Cloud metro area.
