Here We Go Again...
Although the last few days have been fairly mild, we've been stuck under slate gray, low clouds, which have been spitting snow flurries at us since Saturday. That's the trade off at this time of the year with nearly a foot of snow on the ground. Anytime the air temperature warms to near the freezing mark or above, the melting snow adds moisture to the lower part of the atmosphere, which then condenses overnight into low clouds, fog and haze. It can be a frustrating time of year for folks who want some cake and eat it too.
Cold Blob Slams Through Monday
Cold exhaust on the backside of an Arctic front is just what we need for a little pick me up, a little vitamin D. The cold, dry air will scour out the low level moisture and our skies will brighten up considerably later today. Again, the trade off for the extended amount of sunshine this week will be another week of creaking and cracking of car doors and knee joints. Single digit daytime highs and sub-zero overnight lows with bitter am wind chills are likely through Thursday.
Arctic sunshine will run out it's welcome by the end of the week as another quick warm up slides our way. Daytime highs by the weekend will be warm enough to thaw out again... hang in there. Have a good Monday - Todd Nelson
