SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

646 PM CDT TUE MAY 10 2011

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN BENTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  EAST CENTRAL STEARNS COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

* UNTIL 730 PM CDT

* AT 643 PM CDT...TRAINED SPOTTERS REPORTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM  
  WITH QUARTER SIZE HAIL. THIS STORM IS CAPABLE OF HAIL UP TO THE  
  SIZE OF GOLF BALLS. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR ST JOSEPH...OR   
  ABOUT 7 MILES WEST OF ST CLOUD...AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE...
  SAUK RAPIDS...
  SARTELL...
  PARENT...
  MAYHEW...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR LARGE
HAIL. SEEK SHELTER NOW INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM
WINDOWS.

DOPPLER RADAR HAS INDICATED SOME WEAK ROTATION WITHIN THIS STORM.
WHILE NOT IMMEDIATELY LIKELY...A TORNADO MAY STILL DEVELOP. IF A
TORNADO IS SPOTTED...ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IN A
STURDY STRUCTURE...SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL INTERIOR ROOM.

REPORT ANY SIGNIFICANT WIND OR HAIL DAMAGE TO THE NEAREST LAW
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY...FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT WEDNESDAY
MORNING FOR EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA.
