Severe Storm Warning St. Cloud Area


Severe Storm Warning. NWS Doppler radar at 11:11 am. Storms rumbling across central Minnesota are severe (unusual for the late morning/midday hours), but this has been a very unusual summer. Here's the latest from the NWS:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TWIN CITIES/CHANHASSEN MN
1053 AM CDT MON AUG 1 2011

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE TWIN CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
  BENTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  NORTHERN KANDIYOHI COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...
  STEARNS COUNTY IN CENTRAL MINNESOTA...

* UNTIL NOON CDT

* AT 1048 AM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...
  CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE
  STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM ST ROSA TO ELROSA
  TO BELGRADE...AND MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH.  PENNY SIZE HAIL MAY ALSO
  ACCOMPANY THESE DAMAGING WINDS.
